New Spring 2026: Free Health and Well-Being Coaching for All Rice Employees!

OVERVIEW

Starting Spring 2026, the Rice Employee Health and Well-Being Program is excited to offer free, individualized health and well-being coaching for all faculty and staff. This one-on-one coaching provides personalized support to help you clarify your goals, navigate challenges, and cultivate lasting habits that promote a healthier, more energized life. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs and may focus on areas such as stress management, nutrition, movement, mindset, rest, and overall lifestyle balance.

FORMAT

All Rice employees are eligible for three free coaching sessions per calendar year, typically lasting 45-60 minutes each. Most participants meet with their coach every other week, but the schedule can be adjusted to fit your goals and availability.

Sessions may be virtual or in person and are designed to be conversational, collaborative, and supportive. You’ll reflect on what’s going well, explore challenges, and identify small, realistic steps to move forward. Your coach may introduce frameworks, accountability tools, or mindfulness strategies - but you set the agenda.

Each session concludes with clear, achievable actions to help you build momentum and confidence.

OBJECTIVES

A Health and Wellness Coach is both a behavior-change expert and a supportive partner - like a trail guide helping you navigate your personal path toward well-being. Rather than telling you which way to go, your coach helps you map out the route: identifying your goals, uncovering what motivates you, and creating a step-by-step plan that feels realistic and sustainable.

Your coach serves as a thoughtful companion, helping you clarify what matters most, choose practical next steps, and build habits that enhance your energy, focus, and balance at work and at home.

IS COACHING RIGHT FOR ME?

Coaching is available to all Rice faculty and staff who wish to enhance a specific aspect of their health, well-being, or daily life.

Common areas of focus include:

  • Managing stress and burnout
  • Building sustainable movement or nutrition routines
  • Improving sleep quality and recovery
  • Enhancing focus and mental clarity
  • Navigating transitions or maintaining work-life balance

You don’t need a specific “problem” - just a desire to feel and function at your best.
