Introduction
This employee-led initiative empowers university employees to serve as peer leaders who promote well-being initiatives, connect colleagues with well-being resources across campus, and contribute to an empowered campus culture.
Owl-Liance Leaders will collaborate with the Assistant Director for Employee Well-Being and Oversight Council to align well-being resources across campus, implement programs, support policy recommendations, and drive participation in well-being activities by bridging departments and divisions. These leaders will ensure that employees have seamless access to tools and support that enhance their physical, behavioral, and professional well-being.
Objectives
- Increase awareness and participation in the university’s employee well-being programs.
- Promote comprehensive well-being (physical, behavioral, emotional, financial, and social health).
- Encourage a culture of support, engagement, and inclusion across campus.
- Serve as a bridge between employees and well-being resources, enhancing access, visibility, and overall health outcomes.
- Advocate for well-being policies and provide feedback to the oversight council.
- Support professional development and leadership growth through health and wellness advocacy.
Structure and Governance Oversight and Leadership
- Employee Health and Well-Being Oversight Council: Provides strategic direction, resources, and ongoing support for the Owl-Liance Program.
- Assistant Director for Employee Well-Being: The primary point of contact for Owl-Liances, offering guidance, training, and communication support.
- Well-Being Owl-Liance Leaders: Employees from diverse departments who champion well-being initiatives in their areas.
Owl-Liance Program Structure
- Owl-Liances will represent various departments, job functions, and employee groups to ensure inclusivity.
- The program encourages participation from faculty and staff across campus.
- Owl-Liance Leaders will receive specialized training on HIPAA guidelines and best practices for handling sensitive employee information and resources.
- Owl-Liance Leaders will complete a Participation Agreement committing to a one-year term of service, with the option to renew annually.
