Wellness Wednesdays

President Reginald and Paula DesRoches and the university's leadership team are partnering with the Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center to bring Wellness Wednesdays to campus. This initiative is dedicated to employee well-being and focuses on a comprehensive approach to health and wellness, featuring many opportunities for employees to participate with university leaders in different ways. Throughout the academic year, sessions are held once a month across campus. The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025.


August Wellness Wednesday: Owls in Balance

Start the semester feeling centered and energized with a gentle Tai Chi session. Led by Elmer Whitehead, assistant vice president of Facilities, Engineering and Operations, and the rest of the Employee Health & Well-Being team, this 45-minute Tai Chi practice will guide you through slow, flowing movements that promote relaxation and body awareness. Perfect for all experience levels, come experience the stress-reducing benefits of Tai Chi in a welcoming and supportive environment.
