President Reginald and Paula DesRoches and the university's leadership team are partnering with the Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center to bring Wellness Wednesdays to campus. This initiative is dedicated to employee well-being and focuses on a comprehensive approach to health and wellness, featuring many opportunities for employees to participate with university leaders in different ways. Throughout the academic year, sessions are held once a month across campus. The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
January Wellness Wednesday: Lift and Learn
Join Amy Dittmar, Provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, and the Rice Employee Health and Well-Being team for a foundational strength training session focused on Olympic-style weightlifting. Guided by experts in the field of functional movement, you'll discover and improve strength and mobility in this engaging 45-minute session. Whether you're new to weightlifting or a seasoned pro, this is your chance to build strength, learn new techniques and connect with the Rice community in a fun and supportive setting.
