MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY CLOSURE
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Recreation Center will be closed Monday, Jan. 20. We'll resume regular operating hours Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Sleeping pads are integral to sleeping comfortably outdoors - give yourself a little cushion and protection from that pinecone you missed while setting up your tent.
ROPE carries Thermarest Ridgerest Classics, a closed-celled foam mattress industry standard for outdoor programs. Closed-celled foam is ideal for all seasons of camping.
During winter, sleeping pads are critical, and ROPE recommends even adding a closed cell pad to air mattress sleep systems.
Reservations must be made in-person at the Outdoor Adventure Center. There is no additional reservation fee, but full payment for the rental must be made at time of reservation.
ROPE does not issue refunds in the event of patron cancellations. Cancellations made more than seven days prior to pick-up will be issued their rental form as credit for a future rental within the next six months. Patrons are responsible for retaining their rental form. Cancellations seven days or less forfeit rental fees.
Rice University assumes no responsibility for accidents or injuries from the use of rented equipment.
If the equipment is returned damaged or excessively dirty, the renter may be subject to additional fees. This includes the cost of materials required to fix the items. If equipment is damaged beyond repair, the full retail value of the item and shipping costs will be charged.
Patrons returning rental gear beyond its due date will be subject to the late fees. Payment will be required upon the successful return of the gear. If the gear is not returned within two weeks of the rental due date, then full retail value plus late fees will be charged. The patron's Rice account will be charged if payment is not made within seven days.
