Every Spring, the Fitness program holds a 3.2 mile family run/walk which is completed through a beautiful scenic route through the campus, followed by a kids dash for all the little ones! We encourage all ages and fitness levels out for the race!
We offer a variety of special classes which run on average for 6 weeks. These classes may include, but are not limited to Boot camp, Restorative Yoga, and Power Fitness. These classes are by registration only. From time to time, the Rice Recreation Center and Fitness Programs will host Continuing Education classes. Designed to get the Houston community involved in continuing fitness education, as well as for aspiring Group Fitness instructors, the Fitness Program offers these classes to the general public and the Rice community. You do not have to be a member of the Rice Recreation Center to participate in these clinics or workshops. All programs listed below take place at the Barbara and David Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center unless noted otherwise. Click here to evaluate your instructor.
