Mind & Body Classes

Our Mind & Body program offers yoga classes to help you de-stress and integrate body, mind and spirit. Depending on the day or week, we hope you'll choose which yoga style of best for you. Below you'll see our schedule which offers virtual and offline classes this semester. Offline classes will be held in MPR-3 at the Rice Recreation Center.

We provide different options for purchase to participate in our Mind & Body Classes

Mind & Body programs are open to anyone who is a Rice Affiliate - this means you are a student, faculty, staff or Rec community member and that you have a Rice ID card. If you are a guest, you must have a Rice affiliate as your host to bring you into a Mind & Body class, and you may purchase a Single Class Pass, which is listed below.

Purchase your Unlimited Mind & Body Pass here - This gives you access to all offline and online Mind & Body classes (schedule coming soon) from January 24-May 20.

Purchase a Single Class Pass- If you want to try one class purchase this pass. This is the only option available for Non-Rice Affiliates.

Purchase a 5 Class Pass- Try out which classes you like and purchase other pass when you are ready.

Purchase a 10 Class Pass - Buy a class pass to give enough classes one or two tries before committing for good.

Purchase a 15 Class Pass - You know you like our classes, but want to have the freedom to drop-in when you please to suit your busy schedule.

Class Descriptions

Core Connection (Virtual)
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. with Bailey F.
This 60 minute class is recommended for anyone who wants to reinforce a strong personal practice. Focus will be on core connection, powerfully aligned postures with longer holds (3-5 breaths) to help find correct muscle engagement and a conscious connection to what you’re feeling in your body. Sometimes the challenge is in slowing down. We will strengthen body, mind and practice with low impact movements and asana. You can expect to end class feeling strong and balanced. Modifications will be offered and are encouraged. I love to utilize props, bring what you’ve got!

Power Flow
Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. with Ruxin F. (Hybrid) and Fridays from 5:30 - 6:30 pm with Brett Alt
This class will challenge your body and mind as you move through postures in progressive, fun and energetic sequences to find your edge.

Pilates (Hybrid)
Fridays from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. with Ruxin F.
This class is all levels and will help you to develop a strong connection to your core.

Yin Yoga
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with Tilly S.

All levels- This 60 minute slow and mindful practice, is intended to apply moderate stress to the connective tissues allowing for increased circulation in the joints. We will hold poses for 3-6 minutes, these poses are restorative in nature. Yin Yoga is amazing for gaining flexibility and serves as an exceptional parallel to a “yang” or “Power Flow” practice. Expect to leave class with a similar feeling as if you've just received a deep tissue massage.

Beginners Flow
Mondays from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with Jonothan S.

New to yoga? Learn how to do it with this beginner friendly flow. Start your week off right. The pace of this class is fit for beginners - you will learn the general poses and concepts to feel comfortable in any yoga class.
