• Rice Dance Theatre

Rice Dance Theatre (RDT), a pre-professional dance company for Rice students, is an integral part of the Gibbs Recreation Center. First formed in 1979 by a small group of students with a strong interest in performing and exploring dance as a creative outlet, it has grown to large dance company of 25-30 dancers. While there are many opportunities for students to explore dance on campus, RDT presents a unique opportunity for students to receive training in theatrical production, choreography and dance technique while pursuing degrees in various fields. The company hosts two annual performances for Rice University and the Houston community where professional and student choreography is featured.
