What Wilma loves about teaching yoga is that everything we experience on the mat reaches into our daily lives. Yoga is a beautiful way to live, starting on the mat and moving beyond. My goad as an instructor is to assist each of my students to calm their minds and experience themselves in a new positive, fun and playful way. Wilma’s hope is that they leave her classes challenged, satisfied and peaceful. Wilma has been practicing yoga for 7 years. When she is not teaching yoga, she is in West Texas operating Casa La Vista Retreat Center, as well as bringing massage therapy and energy to her clients.
Lauren is a 200hr RYT, trained in Boston, MA, who firmly believes that yoga is for everyone. She has an energetic and fun power yoga style that is taught progressively to accommodate all levels and abilities. Lauren will teach you to work with your body, enjoy exercise and advance your yoga practice.
Drawing from a wide variety of yoga styles and meditation techniques, Jonathan's Vinyasa yoga classes are an eclectic exploration of strength, expansiveness and restoration. As a coach, he firmly believes that yoga is for everyone, and challenges them from exactly where they are in their practice: beginner, advanced, recovering, distracted, or all of the above. The class applies breath, movement and postures to softly balance out overstimulated minds and bodies, creating calm and building prana.
After trying various styles of yoga, Charlie realized that Vinyasa helped him with many stretches after long runs. He runs many marathons and thought that would help him. After practicing for many years he found that teaching would be a great way to guide others and help develop their journeys.
Megan teaches both Pilates and ballet. She has been practicing Pilates for the past 18 years and teaching Pilates for the past 10 years. She is fully certified in the mat and all of the apparatus work through the PhysicalMind Institute of New York, and was trained by John Gossett of Pilates Concepts of Houston. As a former professional ballet dancer, megan has been a student of movement her entire life. She believes in enhancing awareness of ones physical being and movement is pivotal to bringing about changes in the body. She hopes to help others use Pilates to improve movement patterns in their daily lives.
Alison has been a student of classical Pilates for over 13 years. Certified in the mat work and the equipment through Peak Pilates, Alison is committed to sharing her love of Pilates and movement to people of all ages and fitness levels. At the Rice Recreation Center, Alison teaches mat Pilates, private Pilates Reformer sessions and co-teaches the Total Body and Barre class.
Rhia teaches Hatha Yoga which includes physical postures, breath work, meditation and relaxation time. The best thing about teaching yoga is creating the opportunity for students to explore their bodies, minds and beyond. She loves it when people leave her class feeling better about themselves and the day ahead of them.
Similar to Robin Sharma's Book "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari," Larry Thraen's life has taken twists and turns to land him on the path to fulfill his destiny. 'Yoga Larry' is a Vinyasa style instructor that has spent the majority of his teaching career in Nicaragua. Since 1998 he has studied extensively, and is a lead facilitator, with the School Yoga Institute and has spent many years practicing under Vinnie Marino, Bryan Keskt, Annie Carpenter, Steve Ilg, Mark Blanchard and Kathryn Budig in LA. He teaches from experience incorporating traditional wisdom of the Tibetan Diamond Sutras and A Course in Miracles. He now lives the life of his dreams - guiding people to move beyond fear and help students live to their higher potential.
Elliott Young, M.Ed., is a certified personal trainer (ACSM), group exercise instructor, and lifestyle and weight management consultant (ACE), and a published author (Kiss Dieting Goodbye). She enjoys teaching Core Power, Yoga, Running, and Boot Camp classes. "I love inspiring people to accomplish their health and fitness goals and, thereby, improve their lives!"
A classically trained Pilates instructor since 2007, Michelle is comprehensively certified to teach Pilates mat work as well as exercises on all apparatuses. Having studied Pilates since 2001, Michelle has experienced how important core strength, flexibility, and balance are to overall physical well-being; and she hopes that her clients will experience the same. She enjoys helping clients become more aware of the way their bodies move and seeing them gain strength and confidence through the Pilates method.
Lucy teaches vinyasa yoga and loves its dynamic, energetic, and fast paced flow. She’s passionate about sharing yoga and the countless benefits of practicing it. She hopes that her students will take away from her class a physical workout and feelings of self-love and worth
Jasmine is a Peak Pilates Comprehensive (PPC) Level II instructor currently working towards completing her The Booty Barre® certification. She is classically trained in the Peak methodology, having studied under Melody Morton, Laura Phillips-Hampton, Colleen Glenn, and Cameron MacDonald. In her two years of teaching, Jasmine has taught well over 600 hours in Pilates group mat/equipment (Reformer, chair, etc) and private sessions.
