Specialty Dance Classes

Specialty Dance Classes offer patrons the opportunity to have fun while exercising and learning new dance forms, whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer. Progressive in nature, these classes start with fundamentals and work toward more complex steps and combinations. The classes in this section require pre-registration, no drop-ins are allowed, and are open to all levels of fitness and dance experience. Refunds will not be given unless a class is cancelled by the Recreation Center. Enrollment will not be accepted after the second week of classes.

Ballet  

This class focuses on classical ballet technique to improve posture, strength and balance. All levels are welcome.

Dates: Saturdays – February 15, 22, March 1, 15, 22, and 29

Tap

Flap, shuffle, step away those winter blahs! This class will focus on rhythm, coordination, basic tap steps and combinations. Students will learn a mixture of Broadway and rhythm tap. Tap shoes are required for this class.

Jazz

 This class will cover a variety of jazz styles and steps to get your feet moving! Class will help improve coordination, posture and overall flexibility. All levels welcome.

Line Dancing

Want to impress your friends at parties with some cool new moves? This class will introduce students to several of the most popular line dances around today. Students will learn basic country western line dances, the Wobble, the Biker’s Shuffle and the Cha Cha Slide. No experience necessary!
